A clear way through.
From a first question to a working system, our process makes space for technical decisions and the everyday reality of a care home.
The steps are simple. The thinking behind them is specific.
The route may vary with the building and project scope. These are the conversations we expect to have along the way.
An initial conversation
Tell us whether this is an occupied home, a group of sites or a development still on the drawing board. We discuss your priorities, the people involved and what is already known.
The output / a useful starting briefUnderstand the site
Review the building, its current systems, demand, access and constraints. For a new build, that means studying the design information and programme instead of existing plant.
The output / opportunities and constraintsDevelop the right scope
Bring the technical options into one conversation. We explain what is proposed, what needs checking and how the elements might fit together, rather than selling a predetermined package.
The output / a clear proposed directionPlan the work
Coordinate access, timings, interfaces and communication with the people running the home or delivering the build. Any interruption to essential services must be carefully considered.
The output / an agreed delivery approachInstall and commission
Deliver the agreed systems, work through checks and commissioning, and address the practical details that make a finished installation usable.
The output / working, checked systemsHand over with clarity
Explain the installed systems and provide the relevant information for the people who will operate the building. A handover should leave the team knowing what has been installed and how to use it.
The output / an informed operating teamThe plan follows the type of project.
In a retrofit, the home remains a home throughout delivery. Resident routines, existing services, access and communication must be part of the plan.
In a new build, timing and coordination with architects, consultants and the main contractor shape the route. Services decisions are more valuable when they are made early.

You do not need a finished specification.
An address, a few known priorities and the right people for a conversation are enough to begin. We can help identify what needs to be learned next.
